FUN AT DUSK Downtime in December 🥰 . #itsthesimplethings #quiettime #headspace #familytime #thegreatoutdoors #1000hoursoutside
SKERRIES ROCKS We recently found out about this wonderful initiative in #Skerries called #skerriesrocks which invites locals to get outdoors, get active and paint rocks. This one had a gorgeous message too. Now we have to hide it somewhere for someone else to find! Exciting stuff. Kiddies have their eyes peeled now on school runs and anytime we’re out and about! So simple yet so fab and great craic 😃 #getoutdoors #paintingstones #communityinitiative🇮🇪 #thegreatoutdoors #1000hoursoutside #ipbig #outfamcommunity🇮🇪 #mudbugsfamily #lovindublin
ON YOUR MARKS It was so nice returning to #bellewstownracecourse with two grown up smallies now on their scooter and bike. The path here is ideal for all wheels as it’s tarmac, looped and an #accessible path set on a hill with some great views. . As the path is intersected at two spots by the main road a lot of care needs to be taken here especially as there’s no markings. A wee stop sign for pedestrians would be a great visual for little and big ones. . We met a gentleman using a mobility chair so it’s a very accessible spot altogether. . After working up an appetite we enjoyed a very tasty lunch at the lovely #familyfriendly @sage.and.stone just outside #Duleek afterwards 🤩 . #familywalksireland #getoutdoors #exploremeath #walkingireland #exploreireland #wanderireland #irishmammy #buggyfriendly #1000hoursoutside #thegreatoutdoors🇮🇪
INSPIRING WOMEN How lucky did I feel today to sit with such a group of amazing ladies (and all so kind too) at the #familyfriendlyawardsireland Thank you all for the chats, fun and words of wisdom. Was wonderful meeting each of you in person! . Today’s event was all down to the brilliant Eveanna aka @corkkidsandmoms and her idea. Huge congrats Eveanna to you and your team, it was fantastic and I loved listening to you and all the passion behind your drive to get these awards up and running! 🙌❤️ . Deirdre aka @deshocks was the perfect compere, so funny and kept the whole show running so smoothly! . Congrats again to all the finalists and winners and to @familyfriendlyirelandawards for such a great event! #ffia2019

DISCLAIMER

If you are planning to visit any of the locations listed on Family Walks Ireland, please be aware that you do so at your own risk. Family Walks Ireland, Aoife Hughes (the website’s author and founder of Family Walks Ireland) accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or inconvenience sustained by anyone using this website. Personal safety is entirely the participant’s own responsibility.

Please be aware that some walks present access issues where buggies may have to be lifted etc. The author has attempted to include as much relevant information as possible regarding this. Please note that changes may have been made to walks after they had been researched. If so, please take into consideration that these changes will not have been added to the website.

This website is solely a point of information for accessible walks around Ireland. Throughout the website the term ‘accessible’ refers to walks that are buggy/wheel friendly. It does not refer to wheel-chair accessible routes as these have strict requirements which the author is not qualified to comment on. If a walk is deemed wheelchair accessible, it’s because the information provided at the site has stated the same.

On arrival at each walk parents/caregivers/guardians must make their own risk assessments on site and use their own judgement to ensure their own safety and the safety of their children.
