A QUIRKY SPOT
Kilcornan Woods are located just outside Clarinbridge on the grounds of Kilcornan House Demesne. It’s a quirky spot in that there are a number of out-buildings dotted around, a grand house, a church and the grounds are used as a through-way so care needs to be taken with roaming smallies. However once you access the woods, they can wander free.
The forest path is a gravel one which is great for wheels especially on wet days. We were so pleasantly surprised here as had often driven past the entrance without knowing what was in store. It’s defintely worth the visit.
Gain access to the car park by driving through the main gates, past the church on the left hand side, beside the gymnasium.
