Buggy friendly walks Meath – Loughcrew Gardens

On recommendation from the locals in Mount Nugent, Cavan we crossed the border to Meath into Oldcastle for this buggy walk. There is an entry fee (see website) but there is plenty to occupy you on your visit. The grounds are dotted with characters from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with some quirky hideouts encouraging young and old to explore. The gardens are quite impressive however there are some steps in place. You will also find the enchanting well-maintained church ruins, part of the Oliver Plunkett family estate.

We finished off our afternoon with a very tasty lunch in the cafe where Aideen was free to explore the lawn facing it, dotted with play equipment. A very enjoyable afternoon indeed.

Go forth and explore more walks in Meath. You can read about them here.
