The perfect buggy path to the promenade
Lahinch is a seaside town located on the northwest coast of Co. Clare. I cannot recommend the area highly enough for a family holiday. There is plenty to do here! We were very lucky to have the use of a friend’s house for our holiday so we certainly made the most of it. The house was situated half way between Ennistymon and Lahinch so I discovered the great path running between both towns. If you’re feeling very fit you could walk from one to the other (4km in total).
I walked the 2km into Lahinch starting at the road leading to Ennistymon GAA Club. There is parking available here and ample parking at the promenade itself. The walk includes some steep inclines (a great workout especially pushing a buggy). In order to lengthen your journey, if you choose, walk through the town to the start of the promenade. It is a short one but if the tide is out the option is there to walk the beach also. A very enjoyable walk with beautiful views on route and on arrival. Go and see it for yourself!
Features along the promenade include:
- Enclosed playground
- Leisure Centre
- Car Park
- Public toilets (not the best)
- Ramp suitable for buggies down to the beach
