A mountainous walk
Mahon Falls are located in the Comeragh Mountains close to Dungarvan town, Waterford. The drive alone is a must with the option of extending it by doing the whole Comeragh Drive which is well signposted. You can get directions and read more about them here. We headed straight for the falls. Even though it was a rather cloudy day the scenery did not disappoint.
On arrival there is a large open car park and an information board located beside it. There are no other facilities so come prepared. The falls are within view so all that is required is to follow the gravel path. We met a few other buggies on our visit so it is certainly buggy/wheelchair friendly. However as there is quite a steep descent to the base of the falls it is not advisable to bring bikes/scooters.
As you can see from the photographs wheel-users can only go so far. There is the option to walk/climb higher rewarding you with even more stunning views. This walk is short (2.5 km return) but it has the wow factor so put this one on your to-do-list!
